American Expressions
American Expressions is my latest project committed to creating a forum for dialogue among all citizens. This project is a social experiment, political awakening, and symbol of expression through an 8’ foot by 16’ foot steel sculpture of an American Flag. In each city American Expressions visits, citizens will be openly invited to use the medium of their choice to express themselves on this large canvas. American Expressions allows our world to be the palette and our hands as the paintbrush when deciding what to create. I toured this giant flag around America leading up to the 2012 presidential election, documenting and encouraging people to share their feelings about American on the icon that guarantees that freedom.
Old Glory Graffiti
As an extension of my American Expressions project, I created an American Flag out of old barn door at Salem Art Works.
Many thanks to all those who participated in both the flag and the engaged dialog about art and political purpose.

Refreshing the flag
A recurring theme of this project is the regeneration of the flag as metaphor for renewing the American spirit.
