BIG 30 Installation complete
In 2015 I was awarded a public art commission to create a sculpture for a new skate park in Orlando, Florida. Initially, I believed the selection committee was attracted to my three dimensional graffiti, but I felt this an opportunity to go grande. BIG 30 is a fabricated steel skateboard that is 30' x 8' x 11" off the ground. The project had generous contributions from the SLB crew, fabrication wizard James Davis made the wheels, grand master of the streets ZEK crushed 4 days of priming and painting, and Pat McKee applied his structural engineering brain to help make it real deal. Many thanks to these talented folks!
If you're in Orlando, the entrance to park is just north 417 & John Young Parkway. And if you're flying in & out of Orlando, look for the big pink wheels and send a pic!

Casting iron has been a focus of my creation for many years. I have always accepted the challenge to transform this material into a contemporary art. To do so I correlate the beauty of molten iron with our most common fluid, water, resulting in works that focus on our delicate need of the hydro-cycle. The properties of of each material, and especially iron, contribute their narrative to my concepts.
